We partner with parents to form a school family that provides an early educational and developmental foundation for future success.
We value parents and teachers knowing “the why” behind “the what” we do in our classrooms and how we operate our school. Knowing what we do is important, but understanding why we do certain things leads to a greater partnership between us and our families. This is foundational to creating a school family. This means we have a higher level of intentional purpose in everything we do, which leads to greater school achievement.
The heart of relationships is connection. In no other industry is this more important than early education, and in no other school will you find more connection than within the Rise Academy family. We know young children must feel safe and loved before we can expect them to be students ready to learn. Social-emotional learning is one of, if not the most important, skills we teach our students. Young children will often get upset, angry, sad, etc., as they discover their emotions and learn how to manage them. In our classrooms, the teacher must have a strong connection with each child to help them learn through emotional moments.
Our school and this industry are all about service. We serve our students, we serve our parents, and we serve each other. Every person in our school is a leader, whether that’s in the classroom leading our students or in a role leading other teachers. We believe the best leaders are servant leaders who put the interests of others above their own to enable growth of those around them and ultimately achieve collective success across the school.
We wholeheartedly believe in communication that is clear, transparent, and proactive. We know communication doesn’t go one way and that it requires active listening. This means we are receptive to parents’ concerns, questions, and ideas. Knowing this is paramount in our quest for continuous improvement. All of this helps establish proper expectations, understanding, and direction, which ultimately leads to a more cohesive, innovative, and successful school.
It’s easy to get excited about young children naming letters, counting to 10, or beginning to recognize shapes. We value these achievements, too! But from our understanding of early brain development, we place a teaching emphasis on social-emotional and executive function skills, as these are strong predictors of kindergarten readiness and, most importantly, foundational to long-term life success. These skills are less tangible and can’t be measured on paper, but they are infinitely more important in achieving our goal to give young children a foundation to become amazing, successful people.
Our Infant child care program is rooted in early brain research, guiding teachers to support crucial growth and establish daily routines for developmental milestones. Utilizing an activity card system, we focus on four key developmental domains: Physical, Cognitive, Language, and Social-Emotional, with activities tailored exclusively for age ranges of 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, and 12-18 months. This ensures precise and individualized care for each child. Parents can easily view the planned activities for the day on posted cards.
Our Toddler/Twos program explores 13 themes with a variety of intentional, integrated, and child-centered activities based on learning domains. Weekly Lesson Plans, aligned with Texas Pre-K Guidelines, provide teachers the flexibility to tailor activities to individual learning styles, developmental levels, cultures, languages, motivations, abilities, and interests! Through personalized “Adaptations,” the program ensures a thoughtful, playful, and purposeful approach, meeting each child where they are. This helps ensure we offer optimal education during this critical period of development for early learners ages 18-36 months.
Our comprehensive Preschool program offers a proven, research-based curriculum for children ages 3 to 5 years. Throughout the year, we offer 9 engaging themes strongly focused on developing literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills.
Our literacy approach is based on the National Early Literacy Report to ensure a strong foundation and enjoyment for reading. We offer a wide range of books, along with various resources such as story folders and letter manipulatives to promote rapid letter recognition, build story comprehension, and increase overall literacy success.
For math & science, we focus on practical and enjoyable investigations. Our lessons cover numbers, shapes, measuring, sorting, patterns, and understanding data. It’s all about making learning engaging and meaningful for young minds.
For children attending Allen ISD in Kindergarten through 6th grade, we have an engaging before and after-school program, with transportation to/from select local elementary schools included!
We believe regular social engagement is critical to ongoing growth and development so we want students in our care to have fun, be active, and meet new friends. For our older students, we assist with and provide time for homework so they can engage with family in the evening.
We also offer full day care/camps for days and weeks when Allen ISD is closed. This includes an incredibly awesome Summer Camp, which we revamp yearly with a different curriculum, activities, and field trips!
Our programs are also built on the proven Conscious Discipline® model, a researched teaching approach developed over 20 years. This evidence-based method focuses on nurturing social-emotional intelligence in children, enabling them to control impulses, use language effectively, and manage conflicts. By fostering these skills, children engage higher executive brain functions, freeing up teachers to prioritize academic instruction. The outcome is a more successful early education, fostering critical lifelong skills.
We are the only school in Allen to have been certified and recognized under this program by the state of Texas as a Pre-K Center of Excellence. This is evidenced by the performance of students in the ISD setting after graduating from Rise Academy.
Safety and transparency is important to us which is why we offer Internet Viewing – allowing parents to view their children online at any time during the day through a secure video platform “Watch Me Grow”. Additionally, we have glass walls which allow all children and staff to be visible to others at all times.
Our other facility features include an indoor gym, outdoor playground space, separate technology room, and a splash pad.
