We are a nature-based, Reggio-inspired program serving children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. Our vision is to inspire and encourage all children to develop a lifelong love of learning, celebrate their strengths, thrive in their differences and believe that they too can make a dent in the universe.
Our toddler program recognizes that 1 and 2-year-olds are discovering their independence and identity, experiencing a blend of the familiar and the new. Teachers introduce a structured daily rhythm starting with morning circle, fostering self-awareness, self-expression, and self-regulation through Conscious Discipline® practices. The nature-based curriculum includes reading, singing, arts and crafts, napping, snacking, and eating in joyful, naturally lit spaces designed with stimulating play provocations.
Children explore and express their natural curiosity while building foundational skills such as executive functioning, problem-solving, resilience, task completion, independence, and respectful social interactions. Movement and outdoor time are integral, with a dedicated gross motor space for activities like running and climbing, and daily outdoor exploration even in the busy city. Our collaboration with the local library and Nature Jack enriches their experience with special reading sessions and monthly tactile science projects. Through our partnership with the Settlement Music School, Toddlers also receive weekly music classes.
Enrollment Options:
*We do not offer half-day options. The 2 and 3 day programs will follow scheduled days only.
In preschool and prekindergarten, children enhance their social, cognitive, and motor skills while developing a growing interest in literacy and numeracy. Our program features student-centered materials and incorporates Loose Parts for play and Conscious Discipline® for social-emotional development. Phonics instruction builds phonemic awareness and letter recognition, while shared reading promotes good reading habits, vocabulary, and print concepts. Daily numeracy activities explore mathematical concepts, and STEM learning, enriched by a partnership with Nature Jack, encourages observation and discovery. Spanish language skills are introduced through games and art, and music education, supported by the Settlement Music School, engages children through rhythmic and movement-based activities. Daily gross motor play, including an indoor climbing wall, supports physical development and problem-solving. Student progress is monitored through observations using the Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment.

The Reggio Emilia Approach® is an educational philosophy that views children as inherently capable and entitled individuals. It emphasizes that children learn through a myriad of expressive languages and develop in connection with others.
Nature-based learning integrates experiences from the natural world into our lessons, using nature to teach disciplines such as science, math, and language development. For instance, we learn about resilience from the persistent woodpecker, beginnings and endings from the changing seasons, and symmetry from a starfish. Key features of nature-based learning include regular outdoor time, incorporating natural elements into indoor environments with ample natural light, and encouraging children to explore and discover the world around them.
